After breaking his fibula a few months ago on a Hurley trip to Costa Rica, Evan Geiselman has recently been back in the water and will compete at the US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach in a few weeks. Like many of the next generation pushing the boundaries of competitive surfing, Evan found an awkward landing to an aerial maneuver that has sidelined him from competition for months. But after surgery and extensive physical therapy, he is feeling optimistic and excited to start competing again.
“It happened for a reason and my goal for this year is to come back better than I was. There are still a good amount of comps left too, so I’m going to just surf each one and see how it goes. I’m extremely excited for the US Open. That’s my favorite event of the year,” Evan commented.
