Rusty Hires Shooy As New VP Of Marketing

Irvine, CA — Rusty Surfboards and Apparel proudly announces the hiring of Mike “Shooy” Schillmoeller as vice president of marketing for the entire Rusty brand. Shooy will oversee the brand’s sales, marketing, and merchandising direction. The decision by Rusty Preisendorfer, founder of the brand, was another very strong move toward maintaining the existing momentum and positive changes at Rusty.

“Shooy’s background and knowledge of the rapidly evolving youth movement will ensure that Rusty continues to deliver products that drive the market,” says Rusty. “The team we have in place, including our athletes and expert merchandise and design staff, have always represented a genuine passion for the sports and lifestyles we are committed to. By bringing Shooy on board the energy the brand projects will become more intense and focused.”

Shooy is a former member of the NSSA National Team and graduate of the USC School of Business. Over the years Shooy has been a consistent contributor to the action-sports industry. He is currently serving as a Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) board member through 2000 and also is on the board of directors of Surfing America.

“I am very excited to work for the Rusty brand and am looking forward to working with this young and extremely talented team,” says Shooy.

The addition of Shooy to the Rusty program will bring a welcomed boost to the overall brand effort. His addition represents Rusty’s continued commitment to the youth market.
