Travel Tip: Getting A Passport
Passports are pretty simple to get. You just have to remember a couple things. First, don’t put off getting your passport until the week of your trip. Passport agencies have expedited services, but even using this option it’s going to take a minimum of two weeks to get your travel papers. Second, when you go down to get your passport, they’re going to want a couple photos of you shot by a professional passport photographer, money ($35 plus any expediting fees), and proof that you are who you say you are (a birth certificate works). If you have questions, or if you want to find a passport agency near you, check out www.travel.state.gov/passport_services. It’s a pretty extensive site dedicated to simplifying this already simple task.
