La Jolla, California — October 24, 2006 — Surf Diva will be partnering with The Shores Restaurant for an evening of great shopping and wonderful food in aid of Global Action for Children, an international charity dedicated to meeting the needs of children in crisis.
The event will take place on World AIDS Day — Friday December 1st — from 4pm to 7pm at The Surf Diva Boutique on Avenida de la Playa in La Jolla. Customers will be invited to sample wonderful food and listen to live music while they shop to support this excellent cause. Surf Diva will donate 20% of all sales to Global Action for Children.
“We are really excited about the Retail Therapy Evening and hope that it will raise awareness about the problems facing children who have been orphaned by AIDS throughout the world. We have manufactured a Surf Diva limited edition tee-shirt specifically for the event. The proceeds from the sales of this tee-shirt will also go directly to Global Action for Children said Coco Tihanyi.
Surf Diva owners, Coco Tihanyi and Izzy Tihanyi will also be hosting a silent auction at the event with a selection of fantastic items including an evening stay at the beautiful Sealodge Hotel, dinner for two at The Shores Restaurant, a Surf Diva outfit and a weekend surf lesson for two from Surf Diva.
“The Surf Diva Boutique is full of wonderful Holiday gift ideas including apparel, swimwear, footwear and accessories from Surf Diva, Hurley, Salinas, Split, L-Space, Surfer Baby, David and Goliath, Vans, Crocs, Havaianas, Vestal, Parcel Bags, Spy, Soda and Gallaz. We also have unique hand-made jewelry, candles, books, photo albums, purses and much, much more. So, we’re hoping people will join us and help make a difference said Izzy Tihanyi.
The catering for the event will be supplied by The Shores Restaurant, La Jolla’s steak and seafood restaurant. Live music will be presented by acclaimed classical guitarist David de Alva from 4pm to 5.30pm.
“There will be 20 million children orphaned by AIDS by 2010. These children live in the world’s poorest countries and desperately need our help. We want to raise awareness of this tragic situation and hope that the people of La Jolla will join us to help raise money for this wonderful charity said Gina Corrie-Metcalf, Marketing specialist for Surf Diva.
The Surf Diva website will also feature a link to Global Action for Children, so that people can make a donation online during that entire week.
