The 6th Annual Cowabunga Extravaganza Saturday At Salt Creek

O’Neill Presents The 6th Annual Cowabunga Extravaganza

Only a few more days left until the surf event of the season

Grab your Doyle, Zinka, and the most outrageous costume you can find. It’s that time of the year for the world’s most anticipated surfing event. No, not the U.S. Open of Surfing at Huntington. We’re talking about the best in extreme surfing, The Cowabunga Extravaganza presented by O’Neill. The ‘C.E.’ is unlike an ordinary surf event. Surfers are judged by how bad they can actually surf a wave. Come witness surfing history as ‘White Trash’ defends his title to make it a three-peat. Ironically, some of the best surfers in the world end up being the best kook surfers. It takes a certain skill to ride a wave spastically and to not throw your back out! Additional points are awarded for the surfer’s creativity (i.e. costumes, a special board, etc).

‘Buttsquats’ and ‘pizza tosses’ are a must if you’ve got your eye on the final. The C.E. is by far the most entertaining surf event, both for competitors, and spectators alike. Come watch as ‘White Trash’ defends his title . This year’s event will be held September 24th at Salt Creek. Check in will be at 8 a.m. sharp. A $20.00 dollar beach entry, in addition to other proceeds, will go to the recovery of good friend Kevin Kroushinsky (Fight to Walk Foundation) who suffered a neck injury at Salt Creek. The awards and Cowabunga dance party will be held at 7:30 pm — location TBA. To all you kooks- don’t miss it!
