Who’s Hot:
Kelly Slater: Three wins in the last four comps. “This is the best I’ve seen him surf in a long time–Cory Lopez
Andy Irons: Fresh off a victory at the U.S. Open, AI hasn’t had a WCT victory yet this year, but he’s been consistent and surfs pretty decent in Hawai’i where the tour wraps up.
Fred Pattachia: When was the last time a rookie ripped up his first year like this? A shoe-in for Rookie Of The Year.
Sofia Mulanovich: Three victories and a second World Title in sight.

Look Out For:
Mick Fanning: Has won two events and quietly sits in fourth place, well within striking distance. Will do well at the long, rippable rights of Lowers, too.
Joel Parkinson: Hasn’t finished below ninth all year. He’ll do well at Lowers, and typically kills it at Pipe.
Cory Lopez: Surfs well in the beachbreaks of Japan, and France. No slouch at Pipe, either.
Chelsea Georgeson: First, second, first in last three events and only 228 points behind frontrunner Sofia Mulanovich.

Off The Tour:
Neco Padaratz, busted for steroids, tour points stripped, and not rated.

Needs To Have A Strong Second Half To Re-Qualify:
Kalani Robb, Tim Curran, Shane Beschen, Sunny Garcia, Toby Martin, Shea Lopez, Kirk Flintoff, Renan Rocha.

Good luck to all WCT competitors! We love your work!
