Well, only ending for 2004 as we’ll be back, bigger than ever in ’05! The O’Neill Grom Prix comes to a roaring halt for ’04 with the last two events of the year. The popular amateur surf series has it’s first ever stop in Puerto Rico November 6th with renewed support from O’Neill and co-sponsor Smith Optics. And it goes out with a bang on November 13th in Florida.
Thanks to O’Neill’s continued commitment to amateur surfing and grass-roots events, the 2004 circuit was geared up with greater horsepower and higher-octane fuel. “This is O’Neill’s 9th season of Grom Prix’s”, says O’Neill Sports Marketing Director Garth Tarlow. “We we’re really excited to see all of the young talent around America compete this year.”
Loaded with prizes, lots of grub and tons of bragging rights, the O’Neill Grom Prix is a fun and furious day at the beach for groms and their families. Designed to help young surfers develop and hone their competitive surfing skills, the O’Neill Grom Prix is a free event open to surfers 16 and under. The Grom Prixs also have an all new Girls division allowing all of the young rising stars to compete for prizes and trophies.
With stops already in Los Angeles, New Jersey, Huntington Beach, Oahu, Virginia Beach, and Santa Cruz, the final two stops of the year hit Jobos Beach in Puerto Rico on November 6th and Mark Realty in Satellite Beach, Florida on November 13th. Visit your local shop for entry details or show up to the beach at 7am sharp!”
