Mike Parsons, The Realm’s vice president of global marketing, announced today that The Realm has reached new agreements with its existing roster of pro surfers, including Tom Curren, Bron Huessenstamm, Jesse Merle Jones, Chris Drummy and Pat O’Connell. All five athletes agreed to three-year deals.
“We’re all very excited about the deals we reached with each of our team members,” says Parsons. “We have had a great deal of editorial exposure from these five surfers over the last three years. The Realm Surf Team was listed among the top rated teams in the most recent issue of Transworld SURF Business, which compared editorial exposure gained by the best companies in the business. The Realm was by far the smallest company (in terms of sales) in this group and the fact that our athletes get this kind of editorial has had a tremendous effect on our image and consumer awareness”.
The entire Realm team celebrated by spending a week of perfect surf on the North Shore of O’ahu where they were shooting photos for the upcoming ad campaign. The surf was absolutely perfect at Backdoor and Rocky Point. Tom Curren’s first wave at Backdoor was a seven-second tube ride that had the whole North Shore buzzing. Photographer Rob Brown burned through 80 rolls of film — which will no doubt end up in The Realm’s future ads as well as additional magazine editorial.
The company’s approach and philosophies remain unchanged with a commitment to build surf specific clothing and accessories which reflects the waterman life style that stand the test of tides and function. The Realm can be found in the finest surf shops worldwide.
