The Girls waited patiently throughout the day tocompete. By four o’ clock it was time for the heats tobegin. It was a heated battle between Jenny Quam andLeilani Gryde. Leilani came out on top with twoexcellent wave scores of an eight-five and a nine. Shewalked away with a sector 9 deck, a pair of Emu boots and a bag of goodies.

The Groms were in full force reaking havoc all day long. When the final came around they used what energy theyhad left to make an amazing heat. All the gromssurfed really well scoring some big numbers. LukeDavis opened up the heat with a strong first wave. Helooked like he was going to take the title, but it wasAndrew Doheny that came out and scored a slightlybetter wave and crushed Lukes hopes of the first placevictory. Andrew scored the win, a vestal watch, a Santa Cruz skateboard, and some Volcom gear.

There were seventy-two juniors in the Junior Division. With a nice new beach cruiser up for grabs, the juniorswent off. There were a lot of familiar faces in thefinal but, it was the newcomers who ruled the day. JDIrons , Marty Weinstein, and Nick Riley showed offtheir moves and collected some valuable waves in thefinal. In the end, it was the Aussie Nick Riley whowould peddle the bike away with a volcom backpack fullof prizes.
