WSA heads to the Huntington Beach Pier next weekend. It’s a bit too far out for an accurate forecast, but Surfline is looking at some WNW swell activity for mid-week with the possibility for more on the weekend. They are also watching a storm now pulling together about half way between New Zealand and South America could set up another small S swell (180-190) for around the 6th-7th of March.
We will be running all adult (18 and over) and Open divisions on Saturday and all youth (under 18) divisions on Sunday. CLICK HERE to register now. Registration will close at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
March 4. We will not take phone or email entries.
Make Sure Your Ratings are Correct. As we get later in the season it’s a good idea to check your ratings
to make sure we have all your contests listed correctly. Check to make sure you are not listed twice in one division and that if you had a medical excuse or other that you received your last place points for
that event. You must surf 5 regular season events to be invited to the West Coast Championships, May 9 & 10, at Church Beach, San Onofre. The top 7 event scores plus West Coast Championships will determine
Season Champion. Top 5 scores plus West Coast Championship scores will determine who gets invited to the Surfing America USA Championships at the Huntington Beach Pier, August 25 – 30, or WSA Prime next season in U12, U14, U16 and U18 Shortboard divisions. We will be sending U12 Girls and Boys and U14 Girls Shortboarders to USA Championships from WSA in addition to inviting top rated surfers from
those divisions to surf WSA Prime next season. Top rated Boys U14, U16 & U18 and Girls U16 & U18 shortboarders will be invited to surf WSA Prime next season. Check your ratings HERE. If you have questions or find problems email TOM BUJNO.

Nalu’s Island Grill Caters for Graduations and Weddings
Nalu’s Island Grill has been a great friend and supporter of the WSA. They have donated thousands of dollars of food and their time to our events. You know how good their island style food is. Think how good it would be at your graduation party or wedding! Go to Nalu’s Website and click on “catering” to download their catering menu. Great food, at a great price – served with Aloha!
14 of 17 USA Surf Team Members from WSA Prime
The PacSun WSA Prime series has been so successful this year that 14 of the 17 surfers who qualified for the USA Surf Team that is traveling to Ecuador to compete in the ISA World Jr. Surfing Championships, March 28 – April 4, all came up through WSA Prime. With 4 person – 20 minute heats, ASP Judges scoring to ASP/ISA
criteria, Computer Scoring and professional announcing and the best surf spots on the coast, WSA Prime is the only amateur competition series that gives surfers contest experience that they will encounter
competing on the world stage and in Pro Jr. and WQS events. We are stoked at the response to WSA Prime and look forward to having more talented surfers graduate into the program from WSA. Good luck in
Check Out WSA Sponsor Sticky Bumps Reintroduced Day-Glo Wax
We will have some at our events as soon as it is available! Wax Research and Sticky Bumps are re introducing
Day-Glo waxes in their Organic formula. As surf wax collectors know, the original Sticky Bumps, formulated in 1985 was a line of Day-Glo waxes. With our break through formulation in 1992 Sticky Bumps took a
dramatic departure from all previous surf wax formulas. With the trend towards eye popping colors we feel it would be fun to bring back this line in a 2009 formulation. Look for it in all surf shops Spring 2009.
