Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Surf And Music Festival
The second stop for the ’08 ASP World Tour season is coming up quick. The holding period for the Men’s side kicks off on the 18th and the Women’s holding period begins on the 19th. On top of all the action in the water that’s going to be getting under way, there is also the Music Festival that goes on over Easter weekend. Local and interstate musicians will be taking the stage atop of the Bells cliff to make some noise. Koniakowsky and Pu’u at Waveriders Gallery
The next Waveriders Gallery event will be held on March 15th from 6:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m. The work of surf photographer David Pu’u will be featured and will include a selection of pieces not available in our online catalog. Surf artist Wade Koniakowsky will also be on hand to conduct a painting demonstration which will provide surf art aficionados with a rare opportunity to watch the creation of original pieces of art right before their eyes. These one of a kind paintings will be available for purchase that evening and a selection of Wade’s prints and originals will also be on display for your viewing and buying pleasure. Beer and wine will be provided, so come thirsty!

San Luis Obispo Film Festival
The fourteenth annual SLO International Film Festival has been running since Friday the 7th and will commence this Sunday March 16th. The festival offers a variety of new contemporary films, as well as screening older films as well. Film and video screenings will be offered in Avila Beach, Shell Beach, San Luis Obispo, Santa Margarita and Paso Robles. On Saturday March 15th there will be the third annual Surf Night in the festival. The Surf Night will include a tribute to legendary filmmaker Bud Browne. Surf Night will be held at the Fremont Theatre, 1025 Monterey St. The festivities will begin at 7:30 p.m. Film festival passes and tickets for select events are on sale now at the Film Festival headquarters, 861 Palm St., San Luis Obispo, and online at SLO Filmfest.org.
