From the photogs, Michael Burnett has continued to extend his lead, nearing the 70k mark, Anthony Acosta is the only other shooter to crest the 60k mark so far this year and giving Burnett a run for his money. After a stunning round in July with the release of "Propeller", Vans settled back into a more routine pace, logging seven looks in August. Nike also got back into the swing of things, scoring 33 looks last month, closing the gap with Vans to under 50. Trevor Colden locked in another Nike spread in August to build a little breathing room over Chris Joslin from an advertising perspective. While Chris Joslin and Guy Mariano held on to the top two spots once again in editorial coverage and Brandon Westgate’s spread in TSM bumped him from fifth to third in the August mags, rounding out the podium. Paul Rodriguez and Nyjah Huston were neck-in-neck on social media power, while Ryan Sheckler was close behind in third. Overall, Chris Joslin was the only skater that could see the 20k mile marker in his rearview, but he's got company. Brandon Westgate tallied 2k in August to clear 20k and bump up one spot into second, bumping Guy Mariano back into third. Check out the full roster of top 10’s from the August’s Exposure Meter.

The Big Four Break Out

TWBWEB_SKE_Photo-01The leader board is turning into a break out bunch of lensmen battling for the top four. With Michael Burnett continuing to extend his lead, nearing the 70k mark, Anthony Acosta is the only other shooter to crest the 60k mark so far this year and giving Burnett a run for his money. Two new photogs crested the 50k mark in August – Dave Chami and Jefferson Atiba – who both had big months and are really the only other contenders at this point. After these fab four, you have to go back all the way to the high 20's, where Rhino and Brook are duking it out for fifth and sixth respectively.

Vans Propels Past The Pack

TWBWEB_SKE_LOGO-01After a stunning round in July with the release of "Propeller", Vans settled back into a more routine pace, logging seven looks in August. Nike also got back into the swing of things, scoring 33 looks last month, closing the gap with Vans to under 50. While that would normally be a race-crushing gap, Nike's dominance in the last couple seasons means that Vans definitely still has its work cut out for its marketing and athletes.

Colden's Come Up Continues

TWBWEB_SKE_AD-01After a few slow months, Trevor Colden locked in another Nike spread in August to build a little breathing room over Chris Joslin. The leader board stayed steady as she goes, with the top seven staying static. You have to go all the way down to eighth to find a new face, where Miles Silvas joined the top ten after a four-spot climb. Mover of the Month goes to Wes Kremer for his 23 spot into a tie for eighth with Silvas. Grant Taylor also brought some new blood to the top ten, ratcheting up four into tenth.

Westgate Grabs Bronze

TWBWEB_SKE_Edit-01While Chris Joslin and Guy Mariano held on to the top two spots once again, despite a continuing drought of coverage, things are starting to get interesting as up and comers set their eyes on the prize. Brandon Westgate grabbed a spread in TSM to climb five into third, bumping Wes Kremer back one. Ben Raybourn crested the top five for the first time this year, and Daniel Lutheran lurched up two into ninth. While most of the movement has been onesy-twoseys again this month, with just over a thousand points separating third place and ninth, look for a lot of jockeying to go down.

Westgate Grabs Bronze, Rowley Rolls Into Top Ten

TWBWEB_SKE_OVERALL-01Coming into August, Chris Joslin was the only skater that could see the 20k mile marker in his rearview, but he's got company. Brandon Westgate tallied 2k in August to clear 20k and bump up one spot into second, bumping Guy Mariano back into third. But Mariano is a mere 100 points back and has joined the 20k club as well. Look for Aaron Homoki to join the party next month. He climbed two into fourth and is knocking on the 20k door, as is Wes Kremer, who also climbed two, claiming fifth with two-thirds of the year also in the rearview. We'd also like to welcome Geoff Rowley to the top ten club. After climbing more than 200 spots last month, Rowley kept the momentum going with a three spot bump to close August in eighth.
