SIA Snow Show 2012 Wrap Up

The 2012 SIA Snow Show is officially a wrap, and it closed off this winter-season’s trade show circuit with a bang. Despite the warm weather and meager snow season that’s plaguing much of the continent, over 19,000 attendees converged on Denver, and the mood was upbeat for most brands and retailers who were fortunate enough to post decent sales in the late fall of 2011 thanks to cold weather and early snows that dropped before the holidays.

Over 900 brands were on hand, tearing down 3,340 booths late into the night on Sunday, including 114 new or returning exhibitors. SIA calculates that this makes up approximately 90% of the supplier market for all of the ski and snowboard industry.

As your schedule assumes some return of normalcy after a month of trade shows, here are some photos from the final day of the show to help ease yourself back into your routine and stay tuned for a full report from the last two days in Winter Park for this year’s SIA On Snow Demo.

The 2012 SIA Snow Show is officially under way in Denver under warm skies and snowy forecasts looming for the on snow. The vibe on the first day was upbeat despite the fact that SIA released its December sales numbers this morning that showed a slight drop from last year’s record highs. That said, business was getting done, there are more innovations than you can shake a mixed-camber stick at, and the forecast is looking good to start the season…all be it a couple months late for most of the country.
