Mondays are never easy, but this one is proving especially difficult as we go back through the photos from last week in Los Cabos, where the surf industry convened for the 16th time to learn, network, discuss the future, and surf.

SIMA once again outdid itself with an excellent array of speakers including ASP CEO Paul Speaker, former NFL player and ESPN commentator Merril Hoge, Audi America Director of Product Planning Filip Brabec, Mike Yapp, director of Google’s The Zoo and YouTube’s Creative Development Group; a presentation of 2012 surf sales data by SIMA President Doug Palladini, and interesting round table discussions spanning the scope from distribution issues to social media to trade shows.

There was also plenty of time for diversions such as trips to the East Cape for secluded surf sessions, the 16th annual TransWorld SURFari—an event to get the beginners on board, golfing, and catching up with partners and competitors alike poolside at the Melia Cabo Real resort.
