Shred Shop of Skokie, Illinois is just 15 minutes outside Chicago, and at 10,000 square feet and 2 stories tall, it’s the biggest core skate, snow, wake, and SUP shop in the MidWest. In 1988, Shred Shop started with an idea after Owner Chris Bachman took a snowboard trip to Jackson Hole. Ever since, Shred Shop has been dedicated to providing the Chicago Area with the best boarding gear available, and in recent years has expanded its core offering to an online store, as well. The shop prides itself on being involved in its skate community the ground level, hosting events for Go Skate Day and hyping sales, prizes, and film screenings. TransWorld Business had a chance to catch up with Manager and Buyer Matt Thommen about what’s new at Shred Shop.
