Air & Style Announces 2012-13 schedule, Latin American Expansion

Air & Style is getting stoked to celebrate 20 years of competition with the announcement of the 2012-2013 season schedule and some big news surrounding the 2013-2014 season; for the first time in competition history, Air & Style will host an event in Latin America. The 2013-2014 competition season will kick-off on May 24-25, 2013 at Mexico’s Estadio Azteca stadium, located in the heart of Mexico city.

While a snowboard competition taking place in the heart of Mexico may sound a bit strange at first, the folks at Air & Style will be making the impossible possible by partnering up with Real Snow Technologies to bring the snow to the city.

"Who would have thought that the simple idea of an inner city snowboard contest combined with music at night would evolve into a worldwide major event series. We've made history over these past 20 years through all of the successes and adversities whether those be on a sport, business, personal or economic level. With this, Air & Style pushes into new dimensions with the stop in Mexico City and further strengthens it's brand power as one of the few elite event brands in the action sports. The move to Latin America, one of the world's premier burgeoning markets, is a huge and important step for us, and truly a milestone for winter sports as a whole,” said Air & Style co-founder Andrew Hourmont.

While Air & Style’s 2013-2014 Latin American expansion is surely big news, the competition has no shortage of shredtacular plans for the upcoming season. The Oakley + Shaun White Air & Style Beijing will be held on December 8th, 2012 in the Olympic Stadium, Beijing, followed by the Billabong Air & Style Innsbruck-Tirol on February 1-2, 2013.
