California Surf Museum holds Inaugural Paddle Out Fundraiser

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: The California Surf Museum Board of Directors announced Tuesday, March 11,  the 2008 plans to relocate its headquarters to 312 Pier View Way, Oceanside, Calif. and will hold an inaugural paddle out fundraiser Thursday, May 8, at the Carlsbad Ocean House Restaurant to help the museum with interior facility improvements, which will help better showcase surfing history for decades to come,according to a press release issued by the non-profit organization.

The museum, which is currently located at 223 North Coast Highway, serves as an international repository and resource center for the sport of surfing, by cpaturing preserving and chronicling it’s art, culture and lifestyle and heritage. The new facility will allow CSM to expand the exhibit space, provide additional educational opportunities and increase its much-needed archival space.

The inaugural paddle out fundraiser will be held from 5–10pm and will feature live music, Hawaiian-style buffet, a silent auction and the presence of several surfing legends. Tickets for the event are $55 per person for members; $65 for non-members.
