Burr Ridge, Ill. – July 21, 2010 –The Dew Tour returns to Chicago for the second consecutive year for the Nike 6.0 BMX Open, July 23 and 24 at Solider Field’s South Festival Lot, featuring competitions with the top BMX athletes as well as freestyle motocross. Motion City Soundtrack will headline with New Politics opening on Friday, July 23 at 9pm. The five-city tour will continue on to Portland, Ore., Salt Lake City and conclude with the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas this October.

Over 190 of the best BMX athletes from 11 different countries will compete in Chicago at the BMX Open in vert, park and dirt disciplines. Highlighting the vert roster includes five-time, undefeated Dew Cup champion Jamie Bestwick and Chad Kagy, who placed second in Chicago at the 2009 Nike 6.0 BMX Open..

BMX legend Dave Mirra took the BMX park win last year in Chicago. He will again look to repeat his win in the Windy City, but will have to contend with the likes of defending BMX Park Dew Cup Champion, Garrett Reynolds, three-time Dew Cup champion Daniel Dhers and the youngest rider on the tour circuit, Brett Bansaniewicz.

The always-exciting BMX dirt final promises for a good time on Friday night where athletes truly live the phrase “go big or go home.” The most talented riders like defending Dew Cup champion Ryan Nyquist will be competing against guys like Dennis Enarson, TJ Ellis and Luke Parslow. Friday’s BMX dirt finals under the lights guarantees to leave Chicagoans wowed.

In addition to world-class competitions, the two-day event will also include a concert by Motion City Soundtrack and New Politics, presented by MTV2’s Rock N Jock Concert Series- taking place at Soldier Field South Festival Lot on Friday, July 23 at 9:00pm – and an interactive Festival Village. The Festival Village will feature Mountain Dew and FUEL TV’s Green Label Experience, the Nike iD program where fans can customize their own pair of shoes, the NERF Dart Tag World Championships, free product giveaways, demos of the latest Sony and PlayStation games and electronics and athlete autograph signings.

Friday and Saturday Action Zone tickets cost $75 for adults and children and provide access to priority reserved seating for all finals. Additionally, Action Zone ticket-holders receive Dew Tour merchandise, a behind-the-scenes tour, athlete autograph session, merchandise discount coupon, Fast Pass access into all venues and interactive areas and cold Mountain Dew. Reserved seating tickets are $35 for children and adults and guarantees seating for all finals competitions. Grounds Pass tickets cost $15 for adults and children.

Entering its sixth year, the top athletes in the world will take part in the 2010 Dew Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded at season’s end to champions in each of the five disciplines, culminating at the Dew Tour Championships at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The 2009 Dew Cup champions include Chris Cole (skateboard park), Bucky Lasek (skate vert), Garrett Reynolds (BMX park), Jamie Bestwick (BMX vert) and Ryan Nyquist (BMX dirt).

Dew Tour

The Dew Tour consists of five major, multi-sport events spanning across the country, with a cumulative points system, a $2.5 million competitive purse a bonus pool at year-end based on overall tour standings.
