HICKORY, N.C. (July 19, 2012) – North Carolina-based Dirtball developed this concept as a way to highlight the talents of regionally-based mountain bikers as well as to promote the importance of mountain bike trails and environmental awareness in the Carolinas.

"Last year our 2 Piece & Biscuit Skate Tour was a huge success with over 275 entries and some truly awesome skating so we decided to branch out this fall and add a mountain bike series that will have the same fun atmosphere," stated Joe Fox, President of Dirtball. "We are very excited about this year's tour! Fall in the Carolinas is a beautiful time of the year. We have great partners like Monster Energy, Handy Mart, who will be promoting this tour at all the Handy Mart locations through out eastern North Carolina as well as The Bicycle Post, Wake County Parks and Rec., Brunswick County Parks and Rec., a DJ and vendor village and it'll be a great time. "We are proud to have created what will be the only SouthEast mountain bike tour of its kind with this size purse and format," said Fox.

The dates are
Aug. 25th – Brunswick Nature Park – Leland, NC
Sept. 15th – Harris Lake County Park – New Hill, NC
Oct. 13th – The Bicycle Post Trail – Greenville, NC

The tour will award a purse of $10,000 to be distributed in prize money as well as product prizes, trophies.
