Dragon’s business relationship with ASP 2007 world champion Mick Fanning dates back to 1996, when the company was the first ever to use the 15-year-old’s photo in an advertisement for Tracks/Waves. Now, in honor of the surfer’s recent victory, the company released a Feb. 29th statement announcing another first with Fanning – its first-ever signature series sunglasses: the Fanning Gold Brigade.
The series features a a forged steel five-barrel hinge construction, with shatter proof polycarbonate lenses that bock 100 percent of all harmful UV and Blue Light rays. Each pair – starting at $95 – is emblazoned with a Fanning family crest and detailed with gold highlights, symbolic for both his gold medal win and his home on the Gold Coast of Australia.
