The modern dude, the film asserts, is embodied by 20 unbelievably talented young skateboarders who share a natural urge to ride their skateboards on any and all obstacles that stand in their way. The film focuses in on the idea that the modern skateboard dude is uninhibited by political boundaries, free spirited, and willing to ride his skateboard at any and all spots both domestic and abroad. The overall composition begs the question: If “Dudes, Dudes, Dudes” is really an accurate reflection of the modern skateboarding dude then what will the future hold for dudes to come? In all, the film is an epic mediation on the essence dudedom. Two thumbs up.
Note: We're actually not that serious. “Dudes, Dudes, Dudes” is really just the latest skateboard movie from DVS. And, yes, it's awesome.
Its availability is also awesome. Dudes, Dudes, Dudes is free at skateboard retail stores on May 5'th and will also be viewable on dvsskate.com. There's even bonus footage that can be accessed through dvsskate.com/originalintent.
“Dudes, Dudes, Dudes” is also available in Europe and comes polybagged in the May 08 issue of Sidewalk Magazine and June 08 issue of Dogway Magazine. And if that weren’t enough, you can also get “Dudes, Dudes, Dudes” as a free downloadable itunes podcast.
