‘Echo Beach’ Documentary to Highlight Surfer Style Changes

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – Newport Beach, CA – ECHO FILM LLC is in production on the documentary ECHO BEACH, which will chronicle the radical shift from the conservative clear board, black wetsuit, long hair mentality of late 70s surfing to the new wave of progression and color of the 80s.

Headquartered on a 100 yard stretch of Newport Beach this movement had a profound impact on surfing, culture and the emergence of the surf industry. Personal stories from industry leaders including Bob McKnight, Jeff Yokoyama, and Bob Hurley, the new guard of surfers Danny Kwock, John Gothard, Jeff Parker, and Preston Murray, shapers/designers Lance Collins, Shawn Stussy, Peter Schroff and Greg Pautsch, photographers and musicians of the day will paint the picture of this high energy period in which new ground was broken in and out of the water. The film, co-produced by Stefan Jeremias and Jeff Parker, will document this spirit of innovation and the resonance it has had on surfing and youth culture.
