As winter approaches, the snowsport industry is gearing up for peak season. Some companies, however, are already in full swing. Shopatron, an ecommerce company, has reported that their snowsports brands have seen 102 percent year-over-year growth for the third quarter, which ended September 30.
Shopatron believes third quarter growth is due to both increases in consumer spending and consumer willingness to make large purchases online.
Brands using Shopatron are able to generate sales on their company website and then pass the sales on to local retailers for delivery or in-store pickup.
“The biggest and best brands in the snowsports industry have found that they don’t have to frustrate their retailers when working directly with the end-consumer,” said Ed Stevens, Founder and CEO of Shopatron. “All groups in the industry, from the brands, to the retail buying groups, to the ski and snowboard associations have found a way to work together and promote the industry as a whole. They have realized that great brands and local expertise are a recipe for a better overall experience.”
Shopatron currently works with over 50 snowsports brands, including K2, Rossignol, and Nordica. Rome SDS and Venture Snowboards also recently started working with Shopatron.
