Steamboat Springs, CO – Rob Perlman, chief executive officer of Colorado's ski trade association, Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA), has accepted the position of vice president of sales and marketing for Intrawest's Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation.

"Having worked with Rob at Colorado Ski Country, we knew that only a veteran with a diversity of mountain resort experience could take us to the next level," said Chris Diamond, president and chief operating officer of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. "As Steamboat continues to see unbridled growth in real estate, lodging, skier days and air service, we are poised for continued success. Rob's track record is one of achievement and we welcome him to Steamboat and back to Intrawest."

In his new role, Perlman will be a member of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's executive leadership team and will be directly responsible for development and management of Steamboat's sales and marketing efforts including oversight of strategic plans, brand management, advertising, promotions, direct/database marketing, international and domestic sales, web/online marketing, Steamboat Central Reservations®, strategic partnerships, and public relations. In addition, Perlman will work closely with Andy Wirth in continuing the growth of the Steamboat brand as the nation's family-friendly resort with its world-famous Champagne Powder® snow and authentic western hospitality.

"I am thrilled to have Rob in the position to lead Steamboat's sales and marketing efforts. He has a profound understanding of the marketplace, the unique Steamboat brand and a very real, long standing passion for skiing," said Andy Wirth, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Intrawest. "Rob has a broad background and strong skill set, which will allow him to have substantial and immediate impact as Steamboat truly moves into a new era of growth."

While at Colorado Ski Country USA, Perlman served as the ski industry representative on the Colorado Tourism Office Board and currently serves as Chairman. As hard as it is to leave a tremendous job with outstanding people, the mountains continue to call to me and my family. We love Steamboat and are thrilled to participate in the energy that is happeing, on so many levels, throughout the community and the Yampa Valley."

Along with his various positions in the Colorado tourism arena, Perlman's tenure in the ski industry has included leadership roles at Winter Park Resort, Vail Associates and Mammoth Mountain in California, where he developed and implemented progressive and comprehensive marketing and sales programs.
