Java Monster is supporting Piece Fest, LA’s first music and street art festival. The event is designed to raise awareness for after-school programs through music, street art and a live graffiti battle between Able and the Massive, which saw Able come out on top as “The Chosen One.” Here’s more:
Los Angeles – October 14, 2012 –Java Monster's Lounge areas had a big buzz going on Saturday during Piece Fest, LA's first music & street art festival that featured LA's hottest new bands and most talented street artists to celebrate this artistic movement in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Graff Lab. Held at the Graff Lab, an urban sanctuary for artists, kids, and young adults, the event featured an all-day battle between street artists Able and The Massive who started with a blank wall scape to create their interpretation of the Java Monster logo for a street art reality competition that was being filmed for Executive Producer David Arquette's TV Show, 'The Chosen One'. In a close battle, Able walked away as the Chosen One.
The live graffiti competition featured hosts Jessica Sugar Kiper and Kev Hicks, and judges included Monster Energy's Luke Trembath 'The Dingo' of FUEL TV's Danny and The Dingo, world renowned graffiti artist Kelly Risk Graval, David Faustino (Married With Children, Legend of Korra, Old Scratch Record co-founder), Seth Shifty Binzer and Peter Mays (Executive Director, LA Art Association).
It was a perfect sunny day in LA with tons of energy and fresh talent on the music stage to include live performances by DJ Lethal (House of Pain & Limp Bizkit), headlining Andre Legacy and special performance by Shifty from Crazy Town as well as Future People, Patience Price, Luxury Kills, LA Breakers and more. There were also unique art exhibits from LA's street artists showcasing their raw talent, an art gallery featuring world renowned artists, merchandising booths, and food trucks. An art wall was designated for public use during the festival to inspire fans to create and join the fun of Graffiti.
