Support Skating And Education In Pakistan And Cambodia.
Skateistan is launching its Summer 2013 Keep Skateistan Rolling fundraising drive to help support skateboarding and education in Afghanistan and Cambodia. The drive will take place this week July 8-14th with the goal of raising $15,000 to support the opening of even more skateparks in Afghanistan and Cambodia.
“If you feel inspired by what Skateistan does and you want to see it keep rolling, this is the perfect time to get involved and help us give skateboarding and new opportunities to children in-need,” says Founder and Executive Director Oliver Percovich.
Skateistan has opened four skateparks is these countries where the children come to skate, but stay to learn. During the drive, Skateistan will release two personal videos portraying what it’s like to be a girl skater in Afghanistan and Cambodia.
Skateistan is also hosting an art auction in Berlin, July 20th at Okazi Gallery. Items will be raffled off, while Skateistan Founder Oliver Percovich speaks on “The Future of Skateistan.” An eBay auction will run from July 12th-21st as well. More info at: www.skateistan.org/KSR
