OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – Surfersvillage Global Surf News, June 5, 2008, Irvine – La Jolla Group announced Thursday, June 5, that it has appointed John Hunt as its new Senior Department Store Sales Manager. Hunt will report to Toby Bost, Chief Executive Officer, and will be based out of the La Jolla Group offices in Irvine, California.
Hunt's role reflects the company's commitment to foster and grow all of the La Jolla Group brands that include O'Neill Clothing, Lost Clothing, Metal Mulisha and Rusty. In this newly created position, Hunt will lead the La Jolla Group's department store sales for all four brands.
"John's broad experience in the industry, particularly relating to department stores, will help progress the growth of all our brands," said Bost. "John is a tremendous addition to our team and will play an integral role with the strategic direction and brand development within the La Jolla Group."
Prior to his new role, Hunt spent the last 17 years with Macy's, and most recently held the post of District Merchandise Manager for Macy's North in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Within the Macy's umbrella, Hunt served five years as the Men's Surf Buyer, eight years as the Buyer of Men's Shoes and two years as the Manager of Planning and Distribution for Macy's West.
