What are the three biggest trends you see shaping the market and what you are doing to meet them?
1. Quality Outerwear at a Quality price.
2. Having Functional, stylish cuts in Jackets and Pants.
3. Have unique blend of colors, fabrics, textures and incorporating Nitro’s hardgoods feel.
What are the biggest changes in the outerwear market you’re seeing for this winter on the business front?
Maintaining lower cost, while expanding on innovation’s and dealing with changing or evolving factory needs.
What fabrics, colors, and technologies are you focusing on for next season?
Fabrics: we focused on more unique weaves with smooth finishes (so snow won’t stick). We’ve also been playing around with different washes and after dye effects for a more “worn” look. People like to be original and want there outerwear to look so too. With Nitro we have a washed ripstop fabric that has a “worn” look to it, but still fully functional.
What are pricepoints doing?
We are trying to maintain pricepoints but this is tricky to achieve due to fact factories trying to do the same thing in an changing global market. Due to the ripple effect, we are doing all we can to continue to make a great product at an affordable price, and not to pile the extra costs on the end consumer.
Have you changed your distribution at all from last season? Why or why not?
By introducing Nitro outerwear to the U.S market we have chosen key retailers to work with. Shops that compliment the Nitro brand. So far we have already had a great response.
