The Oceanside Social Club, started by Chris Abad, will host their second annual Golf Benefit on Sunday, July 10
Oceanside, Ca., June 2016—Last year, a near fatal surfing accident suffered by Chris Abad rallied the Oceanside surf community to get together and support him through a long and now complete recovery. To thank everyone, Chris and that same community of surfers called the Oceanside Social Club are rallying together again to give back to the Oceanside community they love so much.
The second annual Oceanside Social Club Golf Benefit will be held Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the newly revamped Goat Hill Park in Oceanside. With the same goal in mind as last year, the plan is to enjoy a fun-filled day celebrating the community while whacking down 18 holes with friends.
This year's benefit is aimed at creating college scholarships that will promote and encourage young Oceanside surfers from local high schools to achieve college aspirations and career goals. All proceeds from the entry fees, after party, and raffle will help motivated young surfers from Oceanside and El Camino High School pay for a college education and make the future of Oceanside brighter.

About Chris Abad
On May 9th, 2015, Chris suffered a near fatal neck injury while surfing. He was life-flighted to the Scripps Memorial Hospital. According to the Doctor, Chris was 5 pounds of pressure away from losing his life. He shattered his c1, c2 and c3 vertebrae and fractured 5 ribs. Thanks to some amazing doctors Chris' neck fusion surgery was successful and put him in a prefect position to recover and ultimately surf again. After 10 months of physical therapy, Chris was back doing what he loves, surfing. He preaches his quick and successful recovery could not have happened without the support from his family, friends and community. He can't thank everyone enough. Through this event, he hopes to return the favor by providing a great time for the community and giving back to the local youth. From Chris and the Abad Family, thank you for supporting last year's event!
