After sustaining a head injury in the Park City Mountain Resort halfpipe last Thursday while training for this week’s Mammoth Grand Prix, Kevin Pearce remains in critical but stable condition in the ICU at University of Utah hospital in Salt Lake City.
Pearce, who sustained a concussion while practicing before the Copper Mountain Grand Prix three weeks ago, apparently caught a frontside edge while attempting a cab double cork. Pearce was wearing a helmet at the time. Pearce underwent surgery after being rushed to the hospital to relieve pressure on his brain, and according to his spokesperson, Danielle Burch, his condition hasn’t changed as of Sunday, January 3.
