“The Environmentally Stupid” – Quiksilver’s siteLA hosts benefit art exhibition for Surfers Healing Autism and Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Controversial contemporary artist Dana Louise Kirkpatrick has created original works of art on surfboards, guitars and recycled wood doors, capturing the creative spirit of both organizations. Drawings by Isaiah Paskowitz, who inspired the creation of Surfers Healing Autism. Notable photographers, Steven Lippman, Michael Muller and David Scharff, will be exhibiting select photographic pieces. Also on display, a sneak preview of Pat R. Notaro III’s documentary “A Walk on Water: Mercury, Autism and the Environment,” and a short film by Alejandro Demetrius profiling both organizations. All artwork and photographic pieces on exhibit to be sold solely at the event to raise money for both organizations. Special musical performance by Keith Barry, co-founder and Dean of Silverlake Conservatory of Music, with student ensemble and expected surprise jam session.
