The federal health care reform bill’s definition of a full-time employee may cause financial hardships for ski resorts in 2014 and beyond.

Unless the bill is overturned before the scheduled changes in employer health care requirements, resort towns with seasonal employees must offer a health care plan to each employee who works over 120 days per year, or face fines of $2,000 per violation.  For a resort with 1,000 seasonal employees, this could mean $2,000,000 in fines for disobeying the health care requirements.
