Emmanuelle Odin, Product Line Manager Women & Youth:
What are the three biggest trends you see shaping the market and what you are doing to meet them?
The biggest trends this season is 80’s rock! It’s back! Denim too has made a comeback. Also trending is the flared pant for women or a rebel rock look for men. And finally, the city look influence… like the insulated lumberjack shirt modified for the park riders.
What are the biggest changes in the outerwear market you’re seeing for this winter on the business front?
Silhouettes are slimming down and becoming more polished! Colors are toning down but black and white remain trendy, especially when used in a graphic manner, such as the photoprint (see women’s Fire Jacket).
What fabrics, colors, and technologies are you focusing on for next season?
Next season, we will be working with textured fabrics and denim was our top choice. You will also see urban colors like burgundy and khaki…
How have you responded to the current market and the decrease in prebooks?
We are maintaining a strong point of view with our collection, making it easier to buy with focused products and incentives. Manufacturers are facing strong pressure in the rapidly changing Chinese market resulting in a need to reduce SKU’s, focus production and buy earlier. This will help to ensure good delivery and happy retailers.
Have you changed your distribution at all from last season? Why or why not?
We have actually maintained the same distribution network and remain positioned at various resorts, where our key market can be found.
