Shaper Brent Warner Joins Quiksilver Surfboard Program

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE – Surfersvillage Global Surf News, 20 May, 2008 : – – Another world-class shaper is carving up the foam and waves of South West France.  Brett WARNER is just the latest in a stable of thoroughbreds that call EUROGLASS home.  Brett had a strong career and reputation as he reached the top 50 in the world as a pro surfer during the late 80's and 90's, but now he lets his shaping do the talking.

WARNER is from a distinguished surfing heritage.  His father Wayne Warner created Morning Star Surfboards with Col Smith.  WARNER surfboards established a reputation through the ranks of the competitive Northern Beaches of Sydney.  As a member of the world famous North Narrabeen Boardriders, both Brett's surfing and shaping have achieved a world-class calibre.

The WARNER QUIKSILVER SURFBOARDS will suit high-end performance surfing as well as anyone who wants to push themselves in the water on the best equipment.  They will be available in selected Quiksilver Boardriders Stores.  Look out for them in the soon to be open QBC stores of Viareggio and San Sebastian.

Alongside WARNER, shaping for the QUIKSILVER BOARD PROGRAM are: Simon Anderson inventor of the thruster; Mark Phipps shaper to Rookie of the Year Jeremy Flores; Mark Richards 4X World Champion and twin fin specialist; and the legends Greg Brown and Phil Grace.  Perhaps the most senior member of the Quiksilver shaping team, Phil Grace is still making headlines.

Phil is showing us it ain't all about the young pups.  Recently celebrating his 60th birthday in style he's still the talk of the town.  Not for his storytelling or legend status, but for a new retro model that's in high demand.  The ADDICT board was designed using his original thruster template from 1981.

Its updated rail shape, new fin placement, rocker and bottom contours are making it a performance fun board for small summer waves.  Orders are piling up and the Retro sprays are coming back; it's going to be a colourful summer!  The next board you'll want to ride will be a QUIKSILVER SURFBOARD, coming to a line-up near you soon!
