As decided by the FIS Council meeting at the organization’s headquarters in Oberhofen, Switzerland, on November 6th, slopestyle will be added to the program of the 2011 FIS Snowboard World Championships in La Molina, Spain.
The competition program for the 2011 event has now also been confirmed: the first ever slopestyle competitions at FIS Snowboard World Championships will take place on January 21st (qualifiers) and on January 22nd (finals). As a result, the 9th FIS Snowboard World Championships, the first in Spain, will last from January 14th until January 23rd.
Notably the first FIS Junior Snowboard World Championships in slopestyle were carried out with great success in New Zealand in August 2010.
As the deadline for the communication of the maximum team size has already passed on October 15th, 2010, the quotas for athletes participating in the slopestyle competitions will be added to this maximum.
There will be four national spots for both genders, men and ladies, per team.
