Carlsbad, CA.—SUPERbrand Surfboards and Apparel celebrated the release of the new Fall/Winter 2015 apparel collection by way of an outlaw country band, locally famous cuisine from Fish 101, and five kegs of beer from Pizza Port Brewing.
Partygoers varied from SUPERbrand suppliers and vendors to local shop rats, friends and family of the brand to surf industry heavy hitter. The eclectic bunch—which at one point hit 300 attendees—were treated to an epic performance by the Nancarrow band which is fronted by local Encinitas surfer/singer and SUPERbrand ambassador Graham Nancarrow. Five kegs of Pizza Port brewed beer were downed and Fish 101 served their famous poke bowls and shrimp tacos to the voracious crowd until supplies ran dry.
The evening hit a crescendo when SUPERbrand rider and Dick board enthusiast Paul Fisher grabbed one of his phallically-inspired shapes off the wall and joined the band for an impromptu jam session. Despite a six-foot penis being waved into his face, Nancarrow kept the show going—much to the pleasure of the dozen or so girls line dancing in the front row.
