Surfsling Gives Back in Hawaii

NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA SurfSling International, Inc. is proud to announce our participation in the Kamehameha Schools First Annual Surf, Sample and Awareness Day January 31, 2009.  Team Rider and "Surfers Give Back" surf club member Ezekiel Lau helped organize this event to promote surfing in a positive way and to help charity groups.

Profits from our goods sold at the Sample Sale were donated to 1)  Keiki o ka 'aina, which is a non- profit organization that serves the needs and develops new Native Hawaiian community education site-based programs for parents and preschool children aged 0-5 and 2) Honolulu Shriners Hospital for Children, which is a children's hospital that provides care for thousands of kids with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip and palate, in a family-centered environment at no charge.

"We are really excited about the amount of attendees from the local community and proud of our students for organizing and hosting such a great event." – said Lea Arce, Kamehamea High School teacher and Surfers Give Back Club faculty advisor.

We sold out of all of our slings, one hundred and fifty, an hour before the event closed. We also had to ship an order that we received at the event to Hawaii when we got back to the Mainland.
