Tough Conditions Pospone Junior Open Laax 2011

Snow is scarce right now in the Alps, and the European competition circuit is starting to feel the effects.

Zimtstern announced that due to lack of snow, they are postponing the Junior Open Laax 2011, which was supposed to take place Dec. 10-11. The competition has now been moved to Jan. 7-8, when they hope to have enough snow to build a worthy superpipe.

From Zimtstern:

Due to current weather and snow conditions, Zimtstern and Laax decided to postpone the Junior Open Laax 2011 presented by Zimtstern. The event is now scheduled from January 7 to 8, 2012, instead of December 10 and 11, 2011.

The temperatures and the lack of snow at the moment do not allow preparation of a superpipe that meets the expectations of organizers and riders. Let's hope for an onset of winter and tons of fresh snow until New Year's and celebrate the event even more then.
