What are the three biggest trends you see shaping the market and what you are doing to meet them?
1. slim fit pants
2. more neutral colours
3. workwear influence in fabrics and styling
What are the biggest changes in the outerwear market you’re seeing for this winter on the business front?
I think customers are wanting more performance for their dollar. Increasing functionality of fabrics while maintaining prices from previous seasons is a challenge we are facing.
What fabrics, colors, and technologies are you focusing on for next season?
For fabric: workwear inspired bomber fabrics that feel rugged and protective, functional corduroy accents, plaids are still on heavy rotation. For colors: Neutral, earthy and saturated colors, and colors that are easy to wear.
What are pricepoints doing?
It is forecasted that apparel prices are increasing in all market sectors. We are experiencing pressure from our suppliers overseas, as material and labour costs continue to rise. But we are working hard that those price increases are not translated to our customers. It is forecasted that apparel prices are increasing in all market sectors.
Have you changed your distribution at all from last season? Why or why not?
Yes, we have partnered with Canadian distributor Rampion Distribution to increase sales in North America and provide better customer service.
