11 Resorts Still Open In U.S.

It’s May 1, spring is in the air around most of the country, but that doesn’t mean the snowboard season’s over. There are 11 resorts still open in the continental United States, plus more in British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec, and one in Alaska.

In Colorado, A-Basin, the highest ski area in North America, continues its legacy to remain one of the last ski areas open in Colorado. Ski area officials hope to keep the season going through Memorial Day, May 27.

Spring conditions exist for top to bottom skiing and boarding. The recent cloud cover and lower temperatures have helped the base remain stable. Three lifts currently serve 60% of the mountain. Normal operating hours are in effect from 9:00 a.m. (8:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday) to 4:00 p.m.
