Andrew R. Coulson has been named CEO of Broadband Interactive Group (BIG), a privately held company specializing in interactive television programming.
Coulson was recently retained as a special consultant to BIG, responsible for developing the firm’s strategic direction. In his new expanded role of CEO he will be responsible for the overall operations of the enterprise.
Previous to his affiliation with BIG, Coulson was a member of the senior executive staff at the Samueli Foundation.
Prior to that, Coulson spent six years as vice president of systems and operations at Monitor Labs, a high-tech manufacturing and software company. In addition, he spent eleven years at TRW Electronic Systems Group, in high-tech engineering management, operations and quality assurance.
Coulson, who lives in Laguna Hills with his wife and two sons, holds a BS and MS in physics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Broadband also announced that C. J. Olivares, will assume the role of executive vice president of a division of BIG, Bluetorch TV, an innovative, daily one-hour action-sports television program that airs Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. and 2 a.m. on Fox Sports Net.
Olivares has served in a number of capacities for BIG, most recently as interim CEO, and prior to that, as senior vice president of television, events, and publishing. When he first came to BIG in 1999, he served as vice president of television.
In his role as executive vice president, Olivares will be responsible for the Bluetorch brand and related properties, including the TV show, home videos/DVDs, Internet site, events and marketing.
Before joining BIG, Olivares was director of program development for FOX Sports Net, where he was the primary network representative responsible for the development and creation of new programming initiatives.
Olivares lives in Manhattan Beach with his wife and two daughters.
