SEATTLE – Black Dot, a leader in technical boardwear “without the sticker shock,” has signed four additional riders to complete its six-member team, announced Vice President of Sales Roger Bird.
The new riders include three-time national champion Rocket Reeves of Truckee, California. Reeves, who brings 12 years snowboarding experience and extensive film and magazine exposure, is also co-founder of Six Pack Wax.
Also joining the Black Dot team is Skye King Laskin, of Incline Village, Nevada, who was the 2000 national halfpipe champion in both the USASA and North Island, New Zealand competitions.
New riders also include Jackson Hole, Wyoming resident Jason Elms, an accomplished snowboard/ski mountaineer, climber, hiker and mountain biker, and Snow Valley, California, Slopestyle Champion; and Vera Janssen, of Olympic Valley, California, who is currently a Snowboard Varsity Team Member of the Squaw Valley Academy.
The four new riders round out the Black Dot® team, which includes Jr. National Team member Marcus Adolf of Anchorage, Alaska. Team Black Dot is captained by Greg Manning, a former New England Cup halfpipe champion, Killington Big Air champion and Bordercross finalist. Manning was also named to the new position of Black Dot field promotions coordinator in October 2000.
“Black Dot’s Team Rider Program supports a great group of up-and-coming, as well as, established competitors,” said Bird. “We are proud to have these riders represent Black Dot on the slopes. We get the crucial feedback from them to assist us with our product development.”
This season all team riders will be outfitted in Black Dot’s new “Pro Series” collection of technical performance boardwear due out Fall 2001. The collection features an HV3Â? HydroVentÂ? 3-Layer WPB technology and will have limited distribution targeted primarily to core snowboarding shops.
In addition to developing the new team rider program, Black Dot is enhancing its brand exposure as a first-time sponsor of the demo-village at the 2000/2001 Chevy Truck U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix Events.
