Briko’s Parent Company, Typetwenty Inc., Takes Over U.S. Distribution

SAN CLEMENTE, CA (December 11, 2001) -– Briko has taken control of its brand management and distribution through the San Clemente-based office of its parent company, TypeTwenty, Inc.

The arrangement ends a successful three-year partnership between Briko Italy (Type20 SRL) and Tecnica USA and puts current and future Briko US product under the direct control of the new TypeTwenty US office and its General Manager, Andrew Herrick, formerly the VP of GT Bicycles.

“Tecnica and the people who’ve been running Briko USA for the past 3 years have done an incredible job of growing the Briko brand”, says Herrick. “The fact that they have set Briko on this path is one of the reasons that we wanted to purchase the rest of the company from them. We see an excellent opportunity to expand Briko’s reach both in products and markets.”

Briko dealers will continue to be served by their existing sales reps for all optical, ski, bike and outdoor products. However, they will be working with a new inside sales and customer service team led by former Spy Optics sales manager, Kirk Bausch. Starting in mid-December, Briko product will be shipped to dealers from TypeTwenty’s new warehouse facility in San Clemente.

TypeTwenty Inc. holds the exclusive distribution rights for all Briko products and the license for Arnette products other than sunglasses.
