Portland, Ore., September 26, 2001 – Chorus, manufacturer of progressive, innovative snowboards specifically for women and the first snowboard company founded by five professional, world-class female snowboarders, has brought its message to the internet with the launch of the intimate, personality-laced web site, www.chorussnowboards.com.
Reflecting the collective vision and personal styles of team riders Cara Beth Burnside, Janna Meyen, Leslee Olson, Roberta Rodger and Tomo Yamakoshi, the site was designed as means of communication with the women behind Chorus, rather than simply a reference tool.
“The team really wanted to be able to connect with visitors through the site,” said Georell Bracelin, Chorus brand manager. “With all of the personal touches, it’s a great representation of the personalities behind the company.”
Site visitors will find e-mail addresses and personal journals of the Chorus team riders, as well as regularly updated photos, audio clips and video clips – many coming from team riders’ personal archives. These features were designed to provide glimpses of the team’s philosophy on not just snowboarding, but friendship, passion, motivation and life in general. Even the section of the site highlighting the snowboard line scratches beneath the surface with close-ups of board graphics and definitions of the inspirationally named boards.
“We worked very closely with the team to give the site a more organic quality and incorporate elements of their lives,” said Ross Wordhouse of Wordhouse Creative, the site’s designer.The Chorus site also features hidden messages, which can be discovered by mousing over graphic elements of each page. Those who stumble upon Janna’s “Learn to Throw the Chorus ‘C’,” will discover technical instructions on how to show the world their Chorus spirit. And these messages, along with most other areas of the site, will be ever changing with late-breaking updates. For example, the photo archives already feature photos from the team’s most recent trips to Chile and New York.

Chorus snowboards are built with women in mind, offering customized flex and shape with a strong focus on freestyle performance. Although each rider worked with an artist to design a graphic to suit her personality, Chorus boards are not signature models. The team worked closely together to test, ride and collaborate on design of the entire line. Chorus will offer snowboards in five lengths from 142cm-157cm and the boards will retail for approximately $399. The product will be sold at select specialty snowboarding stores worldwide beginning in September 2001.
