EuroSIMA, European Surf Industry Manufacturers Association, considers that the ASR Europe organizers have fulfilled the mission to bring a new breath and dynamism to the surf industry at the end of its second edition.
Market evolution leads us to consider an expansion of this professional event; nevertheless the lack of local infrastructures in the south-west of France which could accommodate a show with a European dimension, pushed ASR Europe to find another European area to organize their show.
At the end of the ASR Europe last edition, exhibitors and retailers have been contacted in order to give their opinion about organizing a trade show in another city; according to the results, the show organizers proposed to us to move it to Barcelona, Spain. Taking into account the contracts in progress which bind us with other European trade shows organizers, it is impossible for us to answer favorably to this proposal.
We also notice, because of the diversity of the members who compose EuroSIMA, the need to separate the marketing part of the commercial and professional part of the shows.
For the commercial part, EuroSIMA takes the undeniable success of show ispo Winter in Munich, Germany as a model, and would like to obtain its equivalent for summer.
For the marketing part, EuroSIMA considers organizing a boardsports festival, itinerant in Europe in the future, and localised in the south-west of France for its first edition, in order to promote the values of our industry.
EuroSIMA (European Surf Industry Manufacturers Association), a non-profit organization, was founded in 1999 with the initial mission of representing the best interests of the European boardsports industry manufacturers. The Association has four main missions: it is the voice of the board sports industry; it guarantees its members attendance at the best European trade shows, initiates many federative events, and contributes to supporting environmental efforts.
