An efficient shop model that allows you to maximize the potential of your space and merchandise your products properly is central to success. However, pulling this off is not always an easy task. Recently, retail know-it-alls Board Retailers Association and skateboard crusaders IASC came up with a shop concept model to provide retailers with a scaled-down diorama of the inner workings of a fine-tuned shop layout.
Originally a brainchild of IASC, the idea is now being developed by IASC and BRA President Roy Turner. The current model is a ten- by twenty-foot diorama of the inside of a well-merchandised and space-efficient retail shop. The diorama will be stocked and merchandised with brands from IASC sponsors, and representatives from those companies will be on hand to present retail seminars that work in conjunction with the model.
