What do Minna Hesso, Natasza Zurek, Keiko Yanagisawa and Christel Thoresen all have in common?
1. They are all major halfpipe rippers.
2. They all like red wine and cheese.
3. They are all on the Nikita “street clothing for girls who ride” team.
The first annual Nikita team meeting took place in Biarritz/France this summer, a place that has one of the the highest surf/red wine/cheese factors found in the world. Heida Birgisdottir, owner/designer and co-rider at Nikita brought over the first samples of the Summer 2002 collection for a photo session, “but it was more about meeting the team and having a good time together” she says.
Some time was spent on shooting photos, the girls tried surfing but had bad luck with the surf, mountain biking on crappy rental bikes was a thrill, but most important – eveybody had a good time together.
Nikita Clothing is made by and for girls who ride, and one of the goals is to bring the feel of riding into your street life. It will be available in your favourite snow/skate shop soon.
