(Elkton, MD—January 21, 2002) Quiksilver and W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., inventors of GORE-TEX’ fabric, have united to issue a dynamic line of snowboarding apparel for this winter season. The new line debuts innovative styles by Quiksilver with the performance attributes found in Gore’s GORE-TEX’fabric. The new line incorporates style without sacrificing function.
“QUIKSILVER has taken revolutionary GORE-TEX’ fabric, and developed an impressive line snowboarders will demand,” states John Reaney, Gore Product Manager. “Snowboarders appreciate the performance durability of GORE-TEX’ garments and, as always, will count on the fabric to keep them dry and comfortable.”
The GORE-TEX’ brand will be represented in Quiksilver and Roxy Snow’s premium high-end categories in the 2002-2003 line. Hitting the shelves in August, 2002, the garments will feature the highly technical fabric, construction and fit that wintersports customers have come to expect. The product lines will offer such sought after technical details as powderskirts, pitzips, detachable hoods, communication/music device pockets in the jackets, and flash pass magnetic pockets, boot gaitors and boot clips, and multiple pockets in the pants. All garments are constructed with Gore’s proprietary GORE-SEAM® tape; the most durably waterproof seam tape available, and water-resistant rubberized zippers.
“Joining forces with GORE-TEX’ fabric is a natural alignment. Quiksilver strives for outstanding quality and technical innovation in the world of action sports apparel, and GORE-TEX’ fabric holds the same standards and reputation in the outdoor industry,” commented Bill Bussiere, executive vice president.
Quiksilver’s line with GORE-TEX’ fabric provides the snowboarder with the best defense against the elements. Snowboarders look for cool garments that also adapt to the ever-changing weather conditions they face. They want a technically advanced outerwear system that will keep them dry and comfortable, and GORE-TEX’ garments are the answer. Any individual who values performance and demands the most from their gear, regardless of the weather, will benefit from revolutionary GORE-TEX’ garments—the most durably waterproof, breathable and windproof protection from the elements. GORE-TEX’ outerwear allows the body to breathe while preventing the cold, wet elements from penetrating to the wearer. This system allows the aggressive rider to maintain a comfortable body temperature and help him or her stay dry. Plus, GORE-TEX® fabric is the only outerwear choice in the market today for durably waterproof breathable performance with the GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY® promise.
