World’s best snowboarders take the challenge of snowboarding’s newestconcept, Red Bull Heavy Metal.
Niagara Falls, NY USA
16 of the world’s best snowboarders have been invited to the inaugural RedBull Heavy Metal on May 11, 2002 in Niagara Falls, NY USA. The conceptsprung from the necessity to fulfill the progression in snowboarding, whichhas taken traditional “jibbing” on park rails to riding in the streets.Natural handrails have proven to be more consequential and challenging thanpark rails considering the necessary preparation and technique used to ridethem. Recognizing the need, Red Bull found innovation and the expertise inVolcom to develop the concept. “This concept has been tossed around overthe past couple of years, but no one has ever taken the time to actuallyexecute it. I’m stoked to have been invited and can’t wait to see thelevel of riding,” states Jeenyus rider, Eddie Wall.
Lackey Plaza at the NiagaraFalls Convention Center will host the eventproviding the contest with 3 different sets of rails.
