Reef Awarded “Best Print Media Campaign” at NEA Awards
Reef was awarded the prestigious award of “Best Print Media Campaign” at the NEA awards in Munich, Germany. The NEA awards are an annual cross media event (a.k.a. the Oscar°s of the extreme sports world) that brings together the top VIP°s of the action sports world for a night of “small talk, big words and some fine German brew.”
With a total of five respectable nominations in the category, Reef°s co-founder and chairman, Fernando Aguerre, was a little surprised when they announced his company°s name. Aguerre, who ran to the stage, shaking and overwhelmed, managed to spew out in front of over 2000 people, “F—!”
Aguerre later stated, “Winning the NEA Best Print Media award was incredible. I was in front of 2000 of my colleagues looking out into the crowd and the hard work that happens on a day to day basis was paying off big time…I guess I was overwhelmed and I just said the first thing that came to my head.” He continued, “I am impressed with the caliber of the NEA event, it was a real party!”
The Reef ad campaign has been one of the most successful in action-sports history, says the company. For ten years, the Reef ad campaign has always featured the best athletes, the best action shots and the legendary Miss Reef girls in magazines around the world.
